Anumula Revanth Reddy, the current President of the Telangana Congress, is set to officially assume the role of Chief Minister in a momentous inauguration ceremony to be held on Thursday at Hyderabad's LB Stadium.

Popularly known as 'Tiger Revanth', Reddy is poised to create a historic milestone by becoming the inaugural Congress Chief Minister of Telangana, a state established in 2014 after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The 54-year-old political leader played a pivotal role in steering the Congress to a resounding victory, securing 64 out of 119 seats and establishing a commanding majority to form the state government.

Revanth Reddy, celebrated for his political prowess, contested in the assembly elections from two constituencies, namely Kamareddy and Kodangal. Notably, his direct electoral face-off with KCR in the Kamareddy seat resulted in a setback, as BJP's Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy emerged victorious. However, Reddy secured success in the Kodangal seat, contributing to the overall triumph of the Congress in the state.

Revanth Reddy will be joined by twelve ministers, namely Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Dana Anasuya, Tummala Nageswar Rao, Konda Surekha, and Jupally Krishna Rao, in taking the oath of office. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, will also be sworn in alongside the Chief Minister-elect and the other ministers.

The grand oath-taking ceremony will be attended by key political figures, including Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), along with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. The event is expected to draw a massive crowd of approximately one lakh people, reflecting the enthusiasm and support for the new Chief Minister.

In addition to the Gandhis, several notable figures from the Congress party, such as Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary KC Venugopal, and Telangana in-charge Manikrao Thakare, are scheduled to participate in the ceremony. The substantial assembly is anticipated to include Congress leaders from different states, emphasizing the national significance of this momentous political occasion in Telangana.

As per reports, Revanth Reddy's initial course of action will involve signing a document to fulfill electoral promises. In a commitment to honor one of his poll promises, the Chief Minister-elect is set to extend the first employment opportunity to a 38-year-old woman.

Invitations to the Oath taking ceremony have been extended to former Telangana Chief Minister KCR, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu.

The swearing-in ceremony of Revanth Reddy is expected to serve as a forum for opposition unity, with various leaders from the INDIA alliance slated to attend. This comes at a time when there is uncertainty surrounding the future of the Opposition alliance following the Congress party’s abysmal electoral performance in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
