Email Bomb Threat Sparks Citywide Alert in Mumbai; Security Tightened at Key Locations

Mumbai has been put on high alert after an email threatened potential bomb blasts across the city within the next 48 hours.
Despite the lack of specifics no date, time, or location the authorities beefed up security across key locations. “A major explosion could happen any time, at any place. Please do not ignore this warning," read the message received by the Maharashtra control room on Monday.
Railway Police, too, have ramped up their presence, initiating anti-sabotage checks at major stations in an effort to safeguard daily commuters. Behind the scenes, the Cyber Police are leading the charge to trace the source of the email. Security has been tightened across the city.
From bustling railway stations and sacred religious sites to key government buildings, sensitive locations are now under heightened surveillance. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS) and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have been deployed and are actively scanning high-risk areas for any threats.
