‘No Faith, No Law Can Justify This’: India slams Pakistan over deadly Kabul hospital strike

India on Tuesday strongly condemned Pakistan following a devastating airstrike on the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital in Kabul, which reportedly left around 400 people dead and over 250 injured, according to officials of the Afghan Taliban administration.

In a sharply worded statement, the Ministry of External Affairs described the हमला as a “cowardly and unconscionable act of violence,” noting that the targeted facility catered to some of the most vulnerable sections of society.

Rejecting Pakistan’s claims that the strike was part of a military operation, India asserted that “a massacre is being dressed up as a military engagement.” It stressed that a hospital could “by no means be justified as a legitimate military target.”

The MEA further termed the attack a grave violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and warned that such actions pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability. It accused Pakistan of continuing a pattern of reckless conduct, attempting to deflect from its internal challenges through acts of violence beyond its borders.

Highlighting the timing of the strike during Ramzan, the statement added that the attack was “all the more reprehensible,” given the significance of the period as one of peace, reflection, and compassion.

“There is no faith, no law, and no morality that can justify the deliberate targeting of a hospital and its patients,” the statement said.

India called upon the international community to hold those responsible accountable and to ensure an immediate end to attacks on civilians in Afghanistan.

Expressing solidarity, India conveyed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, reiterating its continued support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
