The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Sunday (March 16, 2026) released the first list of candidates for the upcoming 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, announcing nominees for 193 constituencies across the state.
The list, released by the Left Front committee in Kolkata, marks the formal beginning of the alliance’s electoral preparations. While the CPI(M) has fielded candidates in the majority of constituencies, several seats have been allocated to other Left Front partners including the Communist Party of India, All India Forward Bloc, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Revolutionary Communist Party of India and Marxist Forward Bloc.
