According to a sports journalist who clicked the picture, a Hungarian lady, a fan of Neeraj Chopra had approached him for a signature. The lady apparently hand then put forth the National flag of India, hoping to get a signature there as a token of lifetime memory.

According to the journalist who had captured the beautiful moment that teaches every Indian the non-negotiable value system, Neeraj Chopra refused to sign on the Indian flag because that would have meant a violation of The Indian Flag Code. According to Flag Code 3.28, “Lettering of any kind shall not be put upon the Flag”. Even at the hour of achievement, adrenaline excitement and joy, Chopra didn’t forget the fundamentals.
