1,600 Indians Return from Qatar on Limited Flights Amid Airspace Restrictions

Around 1,600 Indian nationals returned home on five flights operated by Qatar Airways on Tuesday, as the airline continues to run limited services due to ongoing airspace restrictions in Qatar, the Embassy of India in Qatar said.

The flights included two to New Delhi and one each to Mumbai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, according to a social media update by the embassy.

“In total, about 1,600 Indian nationals travelled on Qatar Airways flights today,” the embassy said.

It added that Qatar’s airspace remains largely closed, with only limited, non-scheduled flights currently in operation.

The embassy is also facilitating temporary transit visas through Saudi Arabia for stranded Indian nationals opting to return via the Salwa land border.

To support citizens, the mission will remain open daily over the coming week, offering consular services including passport issuance. Its control room and helplines—accessible via phone, email, and WhatsApp—will continue to function round the clock.

The embassy urged the Indian community to follow official guidance issued by Qatari authorities and to act responsibly when sharing information, emphasizing the importance of public safety and community stability.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of services to nine Indian destinations starting Wednesday. Passengers can book tickets through the airline’s website, mobile app, or authorized travel agents.
