Vadodara Car Accident: Who is Rakshit Chaurasia? Accused Screamed ‘One More Round’ and ‘Om Namah Shivay’ After Fatal Crash

A tragic accident in Vadodara has led to the arrest of Rakshit Chaurasia, a 23-year-old law student, for allegedly killing a woman and injuring seven others. The Gujarat Police took him into custody following the incident.
A viral video from the accident scene shows Chaurasia behaving bizarrely. Eyewitnesses claim that after stepping out of his vehicle, he was shouting, “One more round, one more round”, and even mentioned a girl named Nikita.
As onlookers chased him, Chaurasia began chanting “Om Namah Shivay” while displaying a prayer bead necklace (mala) he was wearing. The crowd apprehended him and assaulted him before handing him over to the police.
Eyewitnesses allege that Chaurasia was intoxicated at the time of the crash. A rapid test report has reportedly indicated drug consumption, and police are now awaiting blood test results for confirmation.
Who is Rakshit Chaurasia?
According to police, Rakshit Chaurasia hails from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and is a law student at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara. He was staying in a PG accommodation in the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Panna Momaya confirmed that the deceased woman was Hemali Patel, who was riding a scooter when she was hit by Chaurasia’s vehicle.
Accused Denies Drunk Driving, Blame Game Ensues
In an interview with a local news portal, Chaurasia denied being under the influence, claiming that his car’s airbags deployed after hitting the scooter, blocking his vision and leading to the crash.
A video captured by an eyewitness shows Pranshu Chauhan, who was also in the car, stepping out and blaming Chaurasia for the accident. The footage shows the car’s front portion completely wrecked.
Authorities are investigating whether Chaurasia was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Police have booked him under relevant sections of the IPC and are awaiting further medical reports before proceeding with the case.
