Three Killed, Including Two Children, in Pune as Drunk Driver Rams Truck into People Sleeping on Footpath

In a horrific accident in Pune, Maharashtra, three people, including two children, were killed when a truck ran over people sleeping on a footpath in the Wagholi Chowk area early Monday morning. Six others were injured in the incident.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am when the truck, driven by a man under the influence of alcohol, plowed into several people who were sleeping on the footpath near Kesnand Phata in the Wagholi area. The victims were mostly laborers.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Himmat Jadhav, confirmed the driver’s arrest and stated that he is being investigated under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and BNS. Authorities are verifying if alcohol consumption contributed to the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Vaibhavi Pawar (1), Vaibhav Pawar (2), and Vishal Pawar (22). Six injured individuals have been admitted to Sassoon General Hospital. An investigation is ongoing.
