Tension Erupts at CMR Engineering College Over Alleged Inappropriate Video Recording in Girls' Hostel Bathroom
Tensions flared at CMR Engineering College in Medchal, Hyderabad, after allegations surfaced of inappropriate video recording in the girls' hostel bathroom. Distressed students protested, demanding immediate action from the authorities.
The incident came to light when some students suspected that videos were being secretly recorded in the hostel's bathroom. The students accused individuals working in the hostel kitchen as potential culprits, which further escalated the situation.
Enraged by the revelation, the students gathered outside the college, calling for justice.
Upon receiving information, the Medchal police arrived at the college and initiated an investigation. Authorities assured the students that a thorough inquiry would be conducted and strict action would be taken against those found guilty. A case has been registered against several suspects, and some have been arrested for further questioning. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and security of female students residing in the hostel.
The college management has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
This incident follows a similar protest earlier this year at S.R. Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, where students accused the college of similar violations. The situation prompted a visit by Mines Minister K. Ravindra, who, along with district officials, met with students following intervention from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
