Renowned Actor Mushtaq Khan Kidnapped, ₹1 Crore Ransom Demanded
Bollywood Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped in Bijnor, days after the abduction of comedian Sunil Pal in Meerut. The case was reported after a complaint filed by Khan's manager, Shivam Yadav, who stated that the actor was abducted and a ransom of ₹1 crore was demanded for his release.
Bijnor Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek confirmed the incident of kidnapping. "Mushtaq Khan was lured from Mumbai to Delhi under the pretext of hosting an event. Upon his arrival, two individuals kidnapped him and demanded ₹1 crore as ransom," SP Abhishek stated.
The Trap Set by the Accused
According to the complaint, on October 15, a man named Rahul Saini from Meerut contacted Khan for an event to honor senior citizens. Saini made an advance payment and booked Khan’s flight from Mumbai to Delhi for November 20. Khan arrived in Delhi at 7:30 PM, where a car arranged by Saini picked him up for the journey to Meerut.
However, the vehicle made an unexpected stop midway, where Khan was transferred to another car driven by the same driver. Shortly after, two additional men entered the car. When Khan protested, the kidnappers revealed that he had been abducted and demanded ₹1 crore.
Kidnappers' Demands and Khan’s Escape
When Khan explained that he didn’t have the money, the kidnappers confiscated his phone and transferred funds from his account. The actor was then taken to Bijnor, where he was held captive for two days. On November 23, Khan managed to escape and sought help from locals, eventually returning to Mumbai via Delhi Airport.
Connection to Sunil Pal’s Abduction
In an alarming development, the same Scorpio car used in Khan’s kidnapping was also linked to the abduction of comedian Sunil Pal in Meerut. The police have launched a search to track down the vehicle and apprehend the suspects involved.
Investigation Underway
The case has raised serious concerns about the safety of celebrities traveling for professional commitments. "Three teams are actively working on the case, and arrests will be made soon," assured SP Abhishek.
