Punjab Terror Conspiracy Case: NIA Arrests Key Associate of Khalistani Terrorist Lakhbir Singh 'Landa' in Mumbai
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) made a major breakthrough on Monday, arresting a key associate of Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh "Landa" and gangster Bachitar Singh "Pavitar Batala" in Mumbai in connection with the Punjab terror conspiracy case.
Jatinder Singh, also known as Jyoti, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, had been on the run since the arrest of weapons supplier Baljit Singh, also known as Rana Bhai, in July. After extensive technical surveillance and on-the-ground operations, the NIA apprehended him in Mumbai.
Jatinder is identified as a member of the terror gang linked to Landa, who operates from abroad and is associated with the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). He is also an aide to Batala, a close associate of Landa.
The NIA’s investigations have revealed that Jatinder was actively involved in supplying firearms to operatives of Landa and Batala in Punjab. He had been procuring weapons from Madhya Pradesh-based supplier Baljit Singh, who was recently chargesheeted in the case.
Further investigation showed that Jatinder had smuggled ten pistols from Madhya Pradesh and delivered them to operatives in Punjab. He had also planned to smuggle additional weapons, but NIA’s extensive search operations over the past several months successfully disrupted his efforts.
