Mumbai Airport Faces Surge in Bomb Threats: 17 Alerts for Domestic and International Flights Over Two Days
Mumbai Airport has been the target of 17 bomb threats over the past two days, according to Mumbai Police. These warnings, reportedly disseminated via social media, have triggered extensive search operations on affected flights, though no explosives have been discovered.
In light of the recent threats, the Mumbai Police have filed two additional FIRs against unidentified individuals, bringing the total to 18 FIRs related to bomb threats affecting flights from Mumbai. To date, only one individual has been arrested in connection with these incidents.
On October 30 and 31, threats were issued for 17 flights, including both Indian and international carriers. Police are now intensifying efforts to trace the IP addresses linked to these alarming communications.
Since October 14, around 550 flights nationwide have been targeted with bomb threats, with a significant number originating from Mumbai Airport. In a related development, authorities may soon question Jagdish Yuike, a suspect believed to be behind many of these threats. Yuike surrendered to Nagpur Police on Thursday and is currently in custody. Sources say that if a connection is established between him and the threats in Mumbai, further questioning is expected.
