Massive Fire Destroys Three AC Coaches of Korba-Visakhapatnam Express; No Casualties Reported
Three air-conditioned coaches of the Korba-Visakhapatnam Express were gutted by a maaive fire that erupted at Visakhapatnam Railway Station on Sunday. The train was stationed on platform 4 when the coaches caught fire. So far, no casualties have been reported.
The fire reportedly started due to a short circuit in the toilet of the B7 bogie. This bogie was completely destroyed, while the B6 and M1 bogies sustained partial damage. The fire quickly spread to multiple coaches before being contained.
Railway staff responded promptly to the emergency. They quickly took action to control the flames, with the Railway fire brigade arriving soon after to assist in extinguishing the fire.
The Korba-Visakhapatnam Express had arrived at Visakhapatnam at 6:30 am and was scheduled to depart for the depot at 9:45 am. Despite the fire, there were no injuries reported. However, the incident caused considerable panic among passengers at the station.
