Maharashtra Assembly Elections: DCM Devendra Fadnavis Files Nomination from Nagpur South-West, Eyes Sixth Term
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday filed his nomination for the Nagpur South-West assembly seat. On his way to file his nomination, Fadnavis drew a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters along with him.
Expressing gratitude towards the party leadership, Fadnavis thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for endorsing his candidacy for a sixth term. "I am confident in the people's support," he stated. "With the achievements of the Mahayuti government, we are poised to form the government once again. Our aim is to maintain Maharashtra's development momentum, making it essential for the Mahayuti government to return to power," he added.
The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. According to sources, the alliance has established a seat-sharing formula aimed at countering the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Under this agreement, the BJP is set to contest 150 to 155 seats, while the Shiv Sena will contest 80 seats, and the NCP will field candidates in 50 seats.
