Madhya Pradesh Opinion Poll Results: Close fight between BJP and Congress
Ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, Opinion Polls were conducted by ABP News and IBC24 on Monday. According to ABP, the Congress is set to win between 108 and 120 seats, securing a majority in the state, closely followed by the BJP with 106-118 seats. The majority mark in the MP Assembly is 113. Mayawati’s BSP is set to win 0-4 seats, with 0-4 seats going to the Others according to ABP report. The Opinion Polls conducted by IBC24 show the Congress with 101-110 seats, lagging behind the BJP by a small margin. The BJP is set to win 110-120 seats, according to the IBC24 report if elections are conducted now, while 5-10 seats will go to Others.
The current MP Assembly is comprised of the majority BJP with 128 seats and the Congress as the main opposition with 98 seats. BSP holds 1 seat, while 3 seats are held by Independent candidates. The Assembly is led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while Govind Singh from Congress is the Leader of the Opposition. The current assembly’s tenure ends on January 6, 2024. The election dates have still not been announced but are expected to be held later this year. The Congress is yet to announce their CM candidate for the upcoming elections.
