Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav to induct 28 new ministers
In what marks the initial expansion of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's council of ministers, as many as 28 ministers are likely to be sworn in on Monday. As per reports, Yadav's Cabinet would comprise both new faces and seasoned leaders, including Members of Parliament who successfully contested the state assembly elections.
Ahead of the expansion, Yadav submitted the list of ministers to be inducted to Governor Mangubhai Patel. The swearing-in ceremony was scheduled to be administered by Patel at 3:30 pm.
BJP recently secured a resounding victory in Madhya Pradesh debunking all rumors of anti-incumbency, securing 163 out of 230 seats, while the Congress party managed to bag 66 seats. Mohan Yadav along with his deputies Jagdish Deoda and Rajendra Shukla, took the oath on December 13. Yadav, a three-time lawmaker, assumed the role of chief minister, succeeding Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who held the position for 16 of the last 18 years over four terms.
