Lawrence Bishnoi's Brother Added to NIA’s Most-Wanted List, 10 Lakh Bounty Announced
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has added Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, to its most-wanted list. Anmol is wanted for his alleged involvement in a shooting outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in April, for which the NIA has announced a reward of ₹10 lakh. Following the shooting, Anmol claimed responsibility on social media, prompting Mumbai police to issue a lookout circular against him.
In connection with the attack on Khan's home, Anmol, Lawrence Bishnoi—currently under arrest in Sabarmati central prison—and Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar were named as accused. Following the incident, police arrested five members of the Bishnoi gang.
After the arrests in June, the authorities uncovered a broader plot targeting Salman Khan, involving plans to surveil his movements and acquire advanced weaponry from Pakistan, including firearms linked to previous high-profile murders.
The charges against Anmol Bishnoi highlight a sophisticated network, estimated to involve around 60 to 70 individuals, monitoring Khan’s activities, including his appearances at various locations.
Additionally, Anmol has been linked to previous assassination plots, including one against singer Sidhu Moose Wala, further establishing the Bishnoi gang's violent reputation. The NIA has categorized this emerging criminal network as the "new underworld," reminiscent of the pre-1993 Mumbai blasts era, indicating extensive ties between gangsters, the music industry, and political figures.
According to reports, Anmol is believed to be coordinating criminal activities from Canada and the United States and is linked to multiple violent incidents, including recent attacks on prominent figures. The NIA’s interest in Anmol intensified after he was implicated in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son's office in Bandra on October 12. Investigations revealed that the shooters involved had been in contact with Anmol through social media platforms.
