“Hamas are not militants. They are not freedom fighters. They are terrorists”, PM Rishi Sunak conveys his support for Israel

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that Hamas is ‘fully responsible for this appalling attack.’ Sunak posted a video on social media of him praying with the members of the Jewish community, praying at a London synagogue on Tuesday, he conveyed his solidarity with Israel, calling the Hamas operatives ‘terrorists.’

"The people who support Hamas are fully responsible for this appalling attack. They are not militants. They are not freedom fighters. They are terrorists. My message tonight from Finchley United Synagogue where I joined @chiefrabbi in vigil with local communities," posted the UK Prime Minister on social media platform ‘X’. The UK Prime Minister's statement comes at a time when the soaring tensions between Israel and Palestine continue to escalate.

Sunak asserted that Israel will receive the UK’s unwavering support in the ‘difficult’ days and weeks that lie ahead. The UK Prime Minister from the very inception of the war had conveyed his support for Israel, calling Hamas’s attack cowardly and depraved. Taking to ‘X’, Rishi Sunak said, "As the barbarity of today's atrocities becomes clearer, we stand unequivocally with Israel. This attack by Hamas is cowardly and depraved. We have expressed our full solidarity to @netanyahu and will work with international partners in the next 24 hours to coordinate support." Apart from the United Kingdom, several Western powers such as the European Union, France, and the United States have come out in support of Israel.

"Israel is at war. We didn't want this war. It was forced upon us in the most brutal and savage way. But though Israel didn't start this war, Israel will finish it”, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, issuing a strong warning to Hamas. "In fighting Hamas, Israel is not only fighting for its own people. It is fighting for every country that stands against barbarism. Israel will win this war, and when Israel wins, the entire civilized world will win," he added.
