Anjali Damania Gives 4-Day Ultimatum to Ajit Pawar, Demands Action Against Dhananjay Munde
Social activist Anjali Damania has issued a four-day ultimatum to Deputy Chief Minister and Beed Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, warning that if no action is taken against Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dhananjay Munde, she will move the court.
Damania met Pawar on Monday and submitted documents, including balance sheets of Beed-based companies, alleging that the signatures on them belonged to Munde and his wife. She claimed this evidence establishes financial links between Munde and the accused in the Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh murder case.
Demanding Munde’s immediate resignation, Damania cautioned that if no action is taken within the given timeframe, she will file a writ petition. She also urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to ensure strict action against individuals close to him who face criminal allegations.
Munde has been under intense scrutiny due to his alleged links with Walmik Karad, one of the accused in Deshmukh’s murder. Calls for his resignation have been growing, with Damania actively pursuing the matter and meeting both Fadnavis and Pawar.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Damania stated, “Dhananjay Munde and Walmik Karad have financial ties, and I have provided all related evidence to Ajit Pawar. After verifying the documents, he must ensure Munde’s resignation within four days. If not, I will escalate the matter by approaching the Lokayukta, filing a complaint, and taking legal action.”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Fadnavis is in Delhi for a three-day election campaign, while Munde was also in the capital on Wednesday.
In a significant development, Ajit Pawar is scheduled to visit Beed on Thursday for a District Planning and Development Council (DPDC) meeting his first visit to the district since assuming charge as its guardian minister. The visit comes at a crucial time, with Beed remaining in the spotlight following the brutal murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.
