Ambulance carrying ailing child halted by the police to let Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s convoy through
A woman with her ailing baby in her arms, enroute to the hospital at the back of an ambulance when the vehicle got stuck in heavy traffic jam in Fatuha, near Patna. She requested the police to the let the ambulance pass as her baby was in a critical condition, in need of immediate medical help. However, the police did not let the ambulance go through because the convoy of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar returning to Patna after the CM inaugurated an ethanol factory in Nalanda.
The Patna Police stopped all the vehicles to let the CM's convoy through. Unfortunately, the ambulance reached the spot at the same time the police stopped all the vehicles on the busy road. The ailing child fell unconscious, waiting for the convoy to pass. The ambulance was caught up in the traffic for over an hour, and was not allowed to pass through.
The driver of the ambulance reported that he had informed the police that they were en route to Patna via Fatuha and requested them to allow them through. Despite the child's condition and the mother's distress, the driver stated that the police refused to let them through.
A month ago, a similar incident occurred in Patna where an ambulance was hated to let the Bihar CM's convoy pass through. The traffic police who had stopped the ambulance was later narrowed down, however, no steps were taken against them. The cops who had stopped the ambulance were later identified, but nothing was done about it.
