203 taken hostage, 306 soldiers killed informs IDF Spokesperson; 3,478 Palestinians killed and over 12,000 injured, states Gaza Health Ministry
Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said that the families of 203 hostages have been informed that their loved ones are being held in the Gaza Strip. The IDF also declared that 306 soldiers have been killed since the conflict began on October 7. Hagari stated that the number is not final because the IDF is constantly probing new information on Israelis who have gone missing since the inception of the attack.
The ‘war’ erupted when Hamas militants broke into Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to eliminate Hamas, the militant group. The tiff between Israel and Palestine has snowballed into one of the bloodiest of the five Gaza wars for both sides. According to the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, 3,478 Palestinians have been killed and over 12,000 have been injured in the last 11 days. An Israeli military spokesperson stated that around 1,400 people have been killed in Israel.
In the meantime, several heart-wrenching visuals have surfaced on social media that include images of bloodied infants, scores of mangled dead bodies, buildings that have now dwindled down to dust, mass funerals, bereaved family members yearning for their loved ones, and much more that show the actual face of war and talk of unimaginable human suffering in lieu of it.
