"You have no right...": BJP State President Bawankule Hits Out at Uddhav Thackeray for Criticizing PM Modi
BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has strongly rebuked Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of having no right to speak against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bawankule’s remarks came in response to Thackeray’s criticism of the Union government’s stance on issues concerning Hindus and national security.
Taking to X , Bawankule condemned Thackeray’s actions, questioning his sincerity in supporting Hindus. "Uddhav Thackeray, who once aligned with Congress for power, is now speaking about protecting Hindus. The public saw how insincere your support for Hindus was during your two and a half years in power," Bawankule wrote. "The Palghar killings and your anti-Hindu stance were well-known to the people of Maharashtra."
He further accused Thackeray of hypocrisy, citing the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader’s past actions in Parliament. "While the BJP has always stood by Hindus, even in Bangladesh, passing the Citizenship Amendment Bill in support of them, Thackeray, at the time, took a subservient stance towards Congress in the Rajya Sabha," Bawankule stated, referring to Thackeray's alliance with Congress during his tenure as Chief Minister.
The BJP leader also emphasized that Hindutva for the BJP is more than just a political tool—it is a core belief. Bawankule criticized Thackeray for abandoning the strong Hindutva principles of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, accusing him of sacrificing ideological values in pursuit of power. "You have abandoned the strong Hindutva ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray. You remained silent when Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Kharge, insulted Veer Savarkar, and when Congress tried to remove Savarkar’s portrait from the Karnataka Assembly," he said.
Bawankule’s criticism of Thackeray’s leadership extended to his personal attacks on Prime Minister Modi, calling into question Thackeray's credibility. "You have no right to speak about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is not only the respected Prime Minister of India but of the world. Frankly, you don't even deserve to," Bawankule concluded, reinforcing his stance that Thackeray lacked the moral authority to challenge the Prime Minister.
