Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that all the top AAP leaders will march to the BJP headquarters on Sunday at 12 noon, after his personal assistant Bibhav Kumar was arrested in connection with the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case earlier in the day. Kejriwal alleged that by arresting AAP leaders, the Prime Minister is trying to “crush” the party. “You think by putting all AAP leaders behind the bars, you will crush the party. You can try all you want, but, you will not be able to crush the Aam Aadmi Party in this way,” said the AAP Chief.

“One after another, they (BJP) have been arresting our leaders. They have arrested me, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Sanjay Singh, all of them have been put behind the bars, and today, they have arrested my personal assistant as well. Now, they are saying that Raghav Chadda, who has just come back from London, will also be put behind bars. They want to put Saurav Bhardwaj as well Atishi in jail,” said Kejriwal in a video statement. “I want to tell the Prime Minister that you are playing this ‘jail jail ka khel’… Tomorrow, I am coming to the BJP HQ with all my top leaders, MLAs, MPs at 12 noon. You can put in jail whoever you want; you can put all of in jail together. You think by putting all AAP leaders behind the bars, you will crush the party. You can try all you want, but, you will not be able to crush the Aam Admi Party in this way,” he added.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal ssiatnet Bibhav Kumar was arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the Swati Maliwal assault case. On Friday, Bibhav Kumar had lodged a complaint against Swati Maliwal via email to the Station House Officer of Civil Lines alleging that the AAP Rajya Sabha MP had abused him inside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. However, Delhi’s Tis Hazari court on Saturday denied his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the case.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has alleged that she has been physically abused by Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar when she had gone to meet with the Chief Minister at his residence on Monday. In her FIR, she stated that she was slapped, and kicked in her stomach and her pelvic region. After she filed an official complaint, she was sent for a medical examination and according to the MLC from AIIMS, Maliwal has bruises over her left leg and right cheek elbow below right eye.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party has dismissed the allegations, asserting that Maliwal's actions were politically motivated, purportedly at the behest of the BJP. “Ever since Arvind Kejriwal has got bail, the BJP is rattled. Due to this, the BJP hatched a conspiracy, under which Swati Maliwal was sent to Arvind Kejriwal's house on the morning of 13th May. Swati Maliwal was the face and pawn of this conspiracy. They intended to accuse the CM but the CM was not there at that time so he was saved. After that, Swati Maliwal accused Bibhav Kumar,” said senior AAP leader Atishi.
