Samajwadi Part Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday informed that his party will join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Nyay Yatra only after finalizing an agreement on seat sharing between the two parties in Uttar Pradesh. He added that discussions between the Samajwadi Party and Congress are steadily progressing, and both parties have exchanged lists regarding a tentative seat-sharing arrangement.

“Right now talks are going on, lists have come from them, and we have also given them the list. The moment, seat distribution is done, Samajwadi Party will join their Nyaya Yatra,” said Akhilesh Yadav.

Talks of seat sharing between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress leadership are still ongoing, but a final agreement has yet to be reached. Earlier, Kharge invited Akhilesh Yadav to join Rahul Gandhi's yatra in either Amethi or Raebareli, an invitation Yadav accepted. However, there remains uncertainty over whether Akhilesh Yadav will participate in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which will pass through Amethi on Monday before entering Raebareli.

The Samajwadi Party that withdrew from contesting the 2019 elections in the Raebareli and Amethi seats had offered the grand old party 11 out of 80 seats. However, as per reports, the Congress leadership had pressed the allocation of a higher number of seats in Uttar Pradesh.
