Uddhav Thackeray Slams BJP for Failing to Address Critical Matters in the Parliament
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday sharply criticized the BJP-led Union government, accusing it of failing to address pressing national and international issues, particularly those affecting Hindus. Speaking at a press conference, Thackeray expressed concern over the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, claiming that the government was more focused on political agendas rather than addressing critical matters facing the country.
"Parliament is not addressing critical issues that concern the country and its people," Thackeray said, expressing his disappointment with the lack of meaningful discussions during the session.
Thackeray pointed to the ongoing challenges faced by Hindus in Bangladesh, highlighting the absence of debate or attention in Parliament regarding their plight. "The plight of Bangladeshi Hindus continues to be ignored by the Indian government," he said. He also condemned the government’s silence following the recent burning of the ISKCON temple in Bangladesh, calling it a "serious issue."
"The government’s silence is unacceptable," Thackeray remarked, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive action. "Just as he intervened to diffuse the Ukraine war, the PM must act swiftly here," he added.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader questioned the government’s awareness of the gravity of the situation, comparing it to the ongoing crisis in Manipur. "The Prime Minister does not fully understand the gravity of the situation in Bangladesh, much like the crisis in Manipur," Thackeray said.
Thackeray also raised concerns over the ongoing visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India. "No one knows her whereabouts or the actions being taken during this visit," he said, casting doubt on the transparency of the discussions.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief further accused the BJP of using Hindutva for electoral gains, claiming that their commitment to the ideology only lasts until elections. "Their Hindutva exists only till elections. Temples are unsafe not just in other countries but even in Mumbai, and yet the government remains silent," he said.
