Two Killed as SUV from Brij Bhushan Singh's Son's Convoy Strikes Motorcycle
Two people who were on a bike were killed in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district after a Toyota Fortuner SUV collided with their vehicle. The SUV was reportedly part of the convoy belonging to Karan Bhushan Singh, the BJP candidate for the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat and the son of politician Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
As per reports, the SUV bore "police escort" markings on the rear windshield, suggesting its involvement in a VIP convoy. The FIR filed by Chanda Begum, the mother of one of the deceased states that around 9 am when her 17-year-old son Rehan and 24-year-old nephew Shahzad were riding a motorcycle when an SUV hit them from the other side.
After the speeding SUV collided with the two-wheeler, both individuals died on the spot. Another person sustained injuries and has been hospitalized. The police have seized the car and detained the driver. However, there is currently no confirmation regarding whether Karan Bhushan Singh was traveling with the convoy at the time of the accident.
The BJP fielded Karan Singh, the son of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh from the Kaiserganj seat after top wrestlers of the country fielded allegations of sexual harassment against him. A Delhi court recently framed charges against him in connection with the case.
