Two Enforcement Directorate officers have been arrested by the Rajasthan Anti Corruption Bureau for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15 lakh. The officer has been identified as Naval Kishore Meena, posted at Imphal office, and his associate Babulal Meena. The complainant has alleged that the officer had been demanding Rs 17 lakh in order to settle a matter involving him in a chit-fund case. The complainant has also added in his complaint that the officer had threatened him that his properties would be attached if he didn’t pay the bribe to settle the matter.

The Rajasthan Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) in a statement issued, said the two ED officers were caught red-handed while taking the money. "A team of the ACB caught the two ED inspectors accepting ₹ 15 lakh. The ACB is searching the premises of the ED inspectors," the ACB statement read.

The arrest of the ED offices came days after ED had questioned Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav for nine hours on October 30, in a case of alleged violation of foreign exchange rules. The raids and examination were termed as political vendetta by Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of the poll-bound state. ED is yet to issue any statement over the arrest. ACB Rajasthan has confirmed that their investigation has started and the arrested Enforcement officer and his associate are being questioned.
