Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav announced the birth of his second child, a son, on Tuesday.

Taking to social media platform “X”, Yadav shared the happy news. “Good Morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!” posted the former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister.

Tejashwi’s sister, Rohini Acharya, also expressed her delight at the new arrival, writing, “Junior Tejaswi has arrived in our family’s courtyard.” She extended warm congratulations to Tejashwi’s wife, Rajshree Yadav, and the entire family. “Hearty congratulations to dear sister-in-law Rajshri, brother Tejashwi, dear Katyayani as well as our entire family and the entire Rashtriya Janata Dal family. May our family always be filled with happiness and may Papa and Maa’s courtyard be filled with laughter… Special congratulations to Papa and Maa,” she added.

Tejashwi Yadav is the younger son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. He and his wife Rajshree, who married in December 2021, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Katyayani, in March 2023.

In a video shared by Rohini Acharya on X, Tejashwi, dressed in medical scrubs and a surgical mask, can be seen speaking with his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, on a video call. He informs him warmly, “Papa, it is a boy. You have got a grandson.”

Rajshree Yadav was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata a few days prior to the delivery, according to reports. On May 26, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi travelled to Kolkata to be by their daughter-in-law’s side ahead of the birth.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited the hospital to congratulate Tejashwi and his family. “This is a joyous occasion for the family. Lalu ji and Rabri ji, who are here, are very happy. I wish them abundant prosperity and good luck for the upcoming polls as well. I am sure that the child will bring good luck for them,” said Mamata Banerjee. “Tejaswi’s wife has been here for months, and we have been in constant touch with the family. Both mother and the newborn are safe and sound. Since the parents are so beautiful, the baby too looks adorable,” she added.
