"The Power of Sindoor has Spoken...": PM Modi Unleashes a Fiery Warning to Pakistan; Hails Operation Sindoor’s Blows to Terror Networks

Standing on what he described as the "sacred land of Sindoor Khela," Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Linking the symbolic power of sindoor in Bengali culture to the nation’s resolute stand against terrorism, Modi declared that India would respond to any future provocations with even greater force.
“Now that I am standing on the sacred land of Sindoor Khela, it is only right that we speak about a new resolve against terrorism — Operation Sindoor,” the Prime Minister said in Alipurduar. Referring to the brutal terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, Modi said the assault had deeply wounded the national conscience and particularly angered the people of West Bengal.
“The terrorists dared to wipe off the sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters. But our brave soldiers made them realise the power of that sindoor,” he said. He asserted that Operation Sindoor had already dealt a heavy blow to terror networks across the border, and that the mission was far from over.
“Those responsible for the Pahalgam massacre have already witnessed the power of Operation Sindoor. We struck them not once, but thrice, on their own soil. And I say clearly—this operation is not over. If there’s another attack, the price will be far greater,” Modi warned.
The Prime Minister did not mince words when speaking about Pakistan, calling it a long-standing sponsor of terrorism and a nation with “nothing positive to offer” to the world. “Pakistan has nothing to contribute to the world except terrorism. Since 1947, they’ve spread violence—not just in India, but also in what became Bangladesh. The world remembers the atrocities, rapes, and murders committed by Pakistani forces,” he said, referring to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
He argued that Pakistan resorts to terror because it cannot match India in conventional warfare. “They know they can’t win in a direct war, so they resort to terror. But India’s message after Pahalgam is loud and clear—those who mastermind terror will be held accountable, and the response will be devastating,” Modi asserted.
In addition, the Prime Minister underlined West Bengal’s role in India’s development story. He said that a strong India is not possible without a strong Bengal, and highlighted the Centre’s contributions to the state’s growth over the past decade. “A strong India is not possible without a strong Bengal. That’s why the Centre has invested thousands of crores for Bengal’s development over the past decade,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Modi laid the foundation stone for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar. The initiative is part of the government’s broader infrastructure and energy development strategy in eastern India.
