Speeding BEST Bus Crashes into Vehicles in Kurla, 3 Dead, 20 Injured

At least three people were killed and 20 others injured in an accident in Kurla (West) on Monday evening when a speeding BEST bus collided with multiple vehicles. The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 pm near Anjum-E-Islam School on S.G. Barve Marg, opposite the L Ward office. The bus driver has been detained by the police, confirmed the DCP. 

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) declared a Level 1 (L-I) incident at 10:10 pm, and emergency teams rushed to the scene. According to Smt. Gaikwad, a staff nurse at Kurla Bhabha Hospital, three of the victims were declared dead on arrival, while the remaining injured are currently under medical observation. The severity of the injuries of some of the victims remains unclear, as authorities continue to assess the situation.

Local authorities have taken a stock of the situation, and emergency services continue to work at the scene.
