Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Monday responded to exit poll predictions for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, expressing optimism that the actual results would defy the projections. Mrs Gandhi stated that the Congress was banking on outcomes contrary to those indicated by the exit polls, which largely forecasted a third consecutive term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"We have to wait, just wait and see. We are very hopeful that our results are completely the Opposite of what the exit polls are saying," said Sonia Gandhi. Refuting the exit polls, Sonia Gandhi and other leaders from the opposition INDIA bloc dismissed them as unrealistic and instead asserted their confidence in forming the next government.

Rahul Gandhi criticized the polls as being biased towards Modi, referring to them as "Modi media polls" during a press interaction on Sunday. "This is Modi ji's poll, it is his fantasy poll," said Gandhi. He asserted the INDIA bloc's expectation of securing 295 seats.

Sonia Gandhi on Monday visited the DMK office in Delhi to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Alongside other leaders from the INDIA bloc, including CPI's D. Raja, CPM's Sitaram Yechury, and Samajwadi Party's Ram Gopal Yadav, Gandhi paid her respects. Rahul Gandhi also attended the event.
