Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack at the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, claiming that if voted to power, the two parties would “run a bulldozer on the Ram temple.” Addressing a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki, the Prime Minister asserted that the current general election is a fight between the BJP-led NDA alliance “advocating for the betterment of country” and the INDIA alliance that “creates unrest in the country.”

"If SP and Congress come to power, Ram Lalla will be in a tent again and they will run a bulldozer on Ram temple. They should take tuition from Yogi ji, where to run a bulldozer and where you shouldn't,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister further hit out at the Congress and the Samajwadi Party claiming that the latter is upset after a leader of the Grand Old party predicted that the upcoming PM of the country will be elected from Raebareli, insinuating that SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav was upset over the prospect of Rahul Gandhi who is contesting from Raebareli, becoming the Prime Minister. "One Congress leader said that the people of Raebareli will elect the Prime Minister. As soon as the ‘shehzada’ (prince) of the Samajwadi Party heard this, his heart broke and he was in tears,” said the Prime Minister. “You need leaders who will work towards the growth and development of the country and not ones who have differences amongst themselves,” he added.

“When the country is being governed by a strong government at the centre, the difference is noticeable. However, when a weak government is in power, they somehow keep the machinery running waiting for the completion of their term…You tell me, can a 100cc engine drive at a 1000cc speed? Therefore, if you wish to see speedy development in the country, only a strong government can do it, only the BJP government can do it,” said Narendra Modi, asserting that “only Kamal” (Lotus- BJP’s symbol) can tend to the needs of the common people of the country.

Exuding confidence in a resounding victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “'June 4 is not too far away now. All doubts will be cleared and the entire country and the world will know when we score a hat-trick of wins and return for a third term at the Centre.” Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki goes to polling during the 5th phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on May 20 and the results will be declared on June 4.
