For justice and a fair investigation into the plane crash involving the death of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others, NCP (SP) MLA, and his nephew Rohit Pawar, on Friday, met several leaders from both the INDIA alliance in Delhi to raise the issue in Parliament.
Rohit Pawar met Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and requested him to raise the matter of Ajit Pawar’s accident in the Rajya Sabha. He said they are meeting MPs who consistently raise public issues in Parliament and fight for people’s interests, and are briefing them about the details of the accident. Pawar also alleged that justice is not being given to a Marathi manoos and that no FIR has been filed against the VSR company. He urged that the issue be taken up in Parliament.
He further alleged that leaders from the TDP, which is part of the central government, have close ties with the owners of the VSR company. Because of this, he said it would not be appropriate for those TDP leaders to remain in the cabinet. He also demanded that the investigation be conducted under Rule 12 instead of Rule 11 and called for major reforms within the DGCA.
After meeting Sanjay Singh, Rohit Pawar also met former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and briefed him about the aircraft crash involving Ajit Pawar and the concerns surrounding the DGCA’s investigation.
Rohit Pawar said that due to the alleged financial and personal connections between a TDP leader and the VSR company, the investigation may not be carried out fairly. He therefore demanded that the DGCA appoint new investigating officers. He reiterated that the probe should be conducted under Rule 12 and added that Sanjay Singh has studied the issue in detail, which is why he approached him.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, MP Sanjay Singh said he had never heard of issues with a black box before. However, in the case of Ajit Pawar’s aircraft accident, claims are now being made that the black box itself may have malfunctioned, raising several serious questions.
