Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the renovated Ayodhya railway station, now named Ayodhya Dham Junction. During the event, he flagged the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, and also dedicated various other railway projects. Modi received a warm welcome from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath upon his arrival in Ayodhya. This visit precedes the upcoming grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.

The Ayodhya Dham Junction railway station underwent development at an expenditure exceeding ₹240 crore. The contemporary three-story station structure incorporates advanced amenities such as elevators, escalators, food plazas, stores for religious offerings, storage facilities, childcare spaces, and waiting areas. In addition, he is set to open the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya Dham on Saturday.
