PM Modi unveils Ayodhya Dham Railway Junction and Airport
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the renovated Ayodhya railway station, now named Ayodhya Dham Junction. During the event, he flagged the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, and also dedicated various other railway projects. Modi received a warm welcome from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath upon his arrival in Ayodhya. This visit precedes the upcoming grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.
The Ayodhya Dham Junction railway station underwent development at an expenditure exceeding ₹240 crore. The contemporary three-story station structure incorporates advanced amenities such as elevators, escalators, food plazas, stores for religious offerings, storage facilities, childcare spaces, and waiting areas. The station building is designed to be accessible to everyone and has received certification as a green station building from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
In addition, he is set to open the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya Dham on Saturday. Modi will engage in a public event where he will unveil, and initiate the groundwork for numerous development initiatives valued at over ₹15,000 crore in the state. Among these are projects totaling approximately ₹11,100 crore aimed at the progress of Ayodhya and its environs, along with projects amounting to about ₹4,600 crore associated with various developments across Uttar Pradesh.
