NIA Takes Custody of Anmol Bishnoi; Linked to Salman Khan Firing and Baba Siddique Murder Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) successfully brought most-wanted gangster Anmol Bishnoi to Delhi on Wednesday after his deportation from the United States. The agency also released the first official photograph of his arrival.

The NIA arrested Anmol, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, immediately after he landed in India. He had been absconding since 2022 before being taken into custody in Delhi.

According to officials, Anmol is the 19th accused to be arrested in the ongoing investigation into the alleged terror network operated by the Bishnoi gang. He was chargesheeted by the NIA in March 2023 for allegedly assisting designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in coordinating criminal and terror-linked activities between 2020 and 2023.

Investigators say that while based in the US, Anmol continued to oversee the gang’s operations in India. He is accused of providing shelter and logistical support to shooters and ground operatives linked to the Bishnoi syndicate. The NIA has also alleged that he was involved in extortion activities targeting individuals in India while operating from abroad.

Anmol is also named as the main conspirator in the October 12, 2024 murder outside former minister Baba Siddique’s Santacruz office. He is additionally an accused in the April 2024 firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, an attack for which he claimed responsibility online.

Officials said the broader investigation aims to dismantle the gang’s operational network, including its funding channels and international support systems.
