NDA 3.0: Modi as PM, 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 MoS (ind), 36 MoS; Swearing-in Ceremony attended by Foreign Dignitaries, Indian dignitaries, Celebrities, 9k crowd and Kharge as lone opposition leader

Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term on Sunday, matching the feat of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, as the massive crowd of close to nine thousand people cheered at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Apart from Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, BJP national president J P Nadda, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nirmala Sitharamatook took oath as the cabinet of Modi 3.0 will now comprise 30 Cabinet Ministers, 36 Ministers of State and five Ministers of State with Independent Charge. 


With 240 seats on their own, BJP now heavily dependent on allies like Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP to mitigate the shortfall of 32 seats. The cabinets are yet to be confirmed but oathtaking ceremony also saw East Delhi MP Harsh Malhotra and BJP MP from Muzzafarpur, Bihar Raj Bhushan Choudhary taking oath in the ceremony overseen by the President of India Draupadi Murmu. Bengal BJP president Dr Sukanta Mazumdar, a two-time MP also took oath as a minister in Modi-led NDA government, the second one from Bengal apart from Shantanu Thakur, MP from Bongaon constituency.

The ceremony was also attended by celebrity superstars Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar amongst others. Industrialists Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani were also spotted at the ceremony. Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge was the only one from the opposition present at the event. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar were also present.
