Namaskar, what’s my crime?, asks suspended AAP MP Raghav Chadda
Hours after his suspension from the Rajya Sabha, AAP leader Raghav Chadha released a video clarifying the allegation of forgery that has been brought against him. "Namaskar, I am suspended Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. Yes, I have been suspended from the Rajya Sabha today. What exactly was my crime?",he said, stating that he had not forged or taken any signatures from other MP's.
Introducing himself as "suspended Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha", he said, "People from the BJP are alleging that I have submitted some signatures of MPs. I am here to tell you the truth. Any parliamentarian has the right to nominate names for a committee. This essentially means that I can propose names for a select committee. I don't need an MP's written consent or signature to do so. You just have to give the names. If any MP has an objection, they can withdraw their name. We have not submitted any signatures." The AAP leader took to social media to clarify the allegation of forgery flagged against him by the BJP government.
He alleges that this is a well thought out ruse to malign his character and discredit his credibility. However, he also stated that such trivial allegations will not hinder his activities, and he will keep fighting for what is right. "The allegation is just a way for them to throw mud at me and tarnish my reputation. I want to tell you I am not afraid of these challenges, I will keep fighting," said the suspended AAP leader.
The AAP leader was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Friday, for the "breach of privilege", after 4 MPs presented a complaint against him. They alleged that Chadha had violated the set rules by naming them in the House panel without their consent. Calling it "unethical conduct", Piyush Goyal moved a resolution against him that was passed by the Rajya Sabha.
