Mumbai Police to File Chargesheet in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case Within 15 to 20 Days

The Mumbai Police are preparing to file a chargesheet within the next 15 to 20 days in the case involving the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The incident occurred on January 16, 2025, at approximately 2:00 am, when an intruder attacked Khan inside his Bandra residence.
The accused, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, also known as Vijay Das, allegedly entered Khan's 12th-floor apartment in the upscale Satguru Sharan building with the intent to commit robbery. During the confrontation, Khan sustained multiple stab wounds, including serious injuries to his neck and back. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and was later reported to be in stable condition.
Following an extensive manhunt lasting over 20 days, Mumbai Police apprehended the accused in a forested area of Thane, where he had been hiding. The suspect has since confessed to the crime, stating that he intended to steal money to create a fake passport for travel back to Bangladesh.

According to sources, as per procedure, 10 accused individuals stood in front of the eyewitnesses, and the police followed the same protocol in this case.
When the police presented all 10 accused individuals to Eliyama, she immediately told the police, "He is the one."
Later, as per procedure, the police changed the clothes of the accused and also changed his position from left to right. Despite these changes, Eliyama identified the same accused again. The entire identification parade took place three times, and on all three occasions, both caretakers recognized the accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir (30), alias Vijay Das.
The police have expedited the investigation, gathering substantial evidence and witness statements. They plan to submit the chargesheet to the court within the next 15 to 20 days, aiming for a swift judicial process in this high-profile case.
