Mumbai Police Summons to Kunal Kamra's Show Audience

The Mumbai Police have issued notices to attendees of comedian Kunal Kamra’s show, where he allegedly made remarks targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The notices have been served under Section 179 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), officials confirmed.
Kamra had been summoned by the police to appear for questioning on March 31 in connection with a case related to derogatory comments about Shinde. A police team visited his Mahim residence on the same day but found that the comedian had permanently relocated to Puducherry, sources said.
On Tuesday, Kamra took to social media platform X to express his views, posting a message titled "How to Kill an Artist: A Step-by-Step Guide." In his post, he detailed a series of alleged systematic efforts to silence artists, culminating in authorities summoning their audiences for questioning.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Rahool Kanal, after recording his statement with the police, issued a strong remark, stating, "Just as India believes in 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (Guests are like gods), we will welcome him in our Shiv Sena style when he arrives in Mumbai."
Kanal further revealed that Kamra had reached out to him multiple times before the controversy escalated. "A day before, he spoke to me for seven minutes, saying, ‘You know me, no one told me to do this. It’s all my content,’" Kanal claimed.
