Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Main Accused in Agripada Robbery Case
The Mumbai Crime Branch has successfully arrested Vinod Lakhan Pal (28), the prime accused in the Agripada robbery case, in which gold worth Rs 1.90 crore was stolen at gunpoint. The robbery occurred at Rishabh Jewellers on December 29, 2024, when the suspects assaulted the shop owner and an employee before fleeing with the valuables.
Based on technical leads, five teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch raided a farm in Simarabhata village, Tehsil Prithvikpur, District Niwadi, Madhya Pradesh, where Pal was arrested. He is currently being brought to Mumbai for further investigation.
In a related development, Santosh Kumar, a resident of Chirgaon, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by local police.
The robbery took place when the two accused entered Rishabh Jewellers under the pretext of buying jewelry. After assaulting the owner, Bhavarlal Dharamchand Jain (50), and his employee, Puran Kumar, at gunpoint, they looted 2,458 grams of gold ornaments valued at Rs 1.91 crore, 2,200 grams of silver ornaments worth Rs 1.77 lakh, Rs 15,000 in cash, and a Wi-Fi router. The robbers tied up the victims before fleeing the scene.
