West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday lashed out at the BJP, expressing confidence that the INDIA bloc, which she is a part of, would secure at least 315 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections while predicting a maximum of 195 seats for the BJP.

"Didi will bring the INDIA alliance to power there (at the Centre), we will help from here (West Bengal). The INDIA alliance will win with all of us. As per the calculations we have till yesterday, they (BJP) will get 190-195 seats and the INDIA alliance will get 315 seats as per the numbers till now. PM Modi is not coming," said the Trinamool Congress Supremo.

Speaking at consecutive rallies in North 24-Parganas’ Bongaon and Noapara in support of TMC candidates, Banerjee reiterated her commitment to ensuring the victory of the INDIA bloc.

In her past poll speeches, Banerjee expressed doubts about Narendra Modi returning to power. Referencing BJP's "400 paar" slogan, she repeatedly mentioned that achieving 400 seats is unrealistic for the saffron party, suggesting they should aim for crossing 200 seats first. However, this is the first instance where she specified the number of seats the Opposition INDIA alliance could secure in the Lok Sabha poll battle.

While campaigning for the Trinamool Congress candidate Biswajit Das from the Bongaon constituency, which is primarily inhabited by the Matua community, Banerjee criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP over the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act and reiterated her stance of not permitting the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act in Bengal. "If the PM has so much love for Matuas, he should grant them citizenship unconditionally. We will not allow the implementation of CAA at any cost," said Banerjee.

Accusing the Central Forces of voter intimidation during phase 4, Banerjee alleged instances where voters pressing the EVM button for TMC found their votes going to the BJP, stating, "We caught them and got the EVM machines changed when voters reported that their votes were going to the BJP," she said.
