MCOC Act Invoked in Baba Siddique Murder Case; 26 Arrested So Far, Anmol Bishnoi Named as Wanted Accused
The Mumbai Crime Branch has invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOC Act) in the investigation into the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. As of now, 26 individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been named a wanted accused in the case. The authorities are continuing their efforts to track him down.
The case, which was initially registered at Nirmal Nagar Police Station, has now been transferred to the Crime Branch for further investigation. The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under various sections, including those related to murder, abetment, and the Arms Act.
Baba Siddique, 66, was tragically shot dead on October 12, near the Bandra office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique. According to authorities, Shiv Kumar Gautam has been identified as the primary shooter in the case. Reports suggest that Gautam remained at the crime scene for nearly 20 minutes following the attack.
