Man Breaches Security, Throws Fluid at Arvind Kejriwal
In a shocking turn of events, a man breached the security of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and threw a liquid at him, during a ‘padayatra’ in Delhi on Saturday. The accused, identified as Ashok Jha, has been detained by Delhi Police for further questioning.
Videos that surfaced on social media show a man throwing a liquid at the AAP Chief, after which he was rounded up by security personnel and Kejriwal’s supporters and dragged to the side. In the meantime, Kejriwal, visibly taken aback can be seen wiping his face.
The Aam Admi Party has blamed BJP for this attack on Arvind Kejriwal. “Shameless BJP again got Kejriwal attacked. Kejriwal was attacked by BJP during his march for raising questions on the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi!! Amit Shah's failure has once again become public knowledge; there is no rule of law in Delhi but the rule of BJP goons. If a former Chief Minister is not safe in the country's capital, then what will happen to the common man? Delhi's law and order situation has completely collapsed under BJP rule!!” said AAP in a statement soon after the incident.
The BJP Delhi spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor hit back at the AAP, saying, that Kejriwal has “resorted to his oldest tactic” which “involves creating drama and seeking sympathy.” "Our Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdev has been consistently saying that all of Arvind Kejriwal's political strategies are failing. Now, he might resort to his oldest tactic, which involves creating drama and seeking sympathy,” said Kapoor, urging the Delhi police to take strict action against those involved in the incident.
