Man Attempts Self-Immolation Outside CM Fadnavis’s Residence; Police Foil Bid Just in Time

A man attempted to commit self-immolation outside Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s official residence, ‘Varsha’, located in Malabar Hill on Wednesday. The individual, identified as Ajit Maidgi, reportedly poured petrol on himself and tried to set himself on fire.
However, alert police personnel deployed at the site acted swiftly and managed to stop him in time, preventing a major tragedy. The Malabar Hill police have taken Maidgi into custody and registered a case against him. Preliminary information indicates that Maidgi hails from Solapur.
As of now, the motive behind his extreme act remains unclear. Police officials have confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the reasons behind the incident.
