Mahayuti Govt’s 100-Day Report Card: High Performers Shine, Key Departments Lag Behind

In a bid to evaluate its early performance, the Maharashtra government under the Mahayuti alliance has unveiled a 100-day progress report, highlighting how each of its 48 departments has fared against predefined goals.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared the report card on X, stating, “after the formation of the new Mahayuti government in the state, all 48 departments of the administration undertook a 100-day program focused on strategic initiatives, launching key new policies, long-term decisions, and citizen-centric schemes. In the past 100 days, out of the 902 strategic goals set by these departments, 706 goals (78%) have been fully achieved. The remaining 196 goals are still in progress, with the respective departments continuing their efforts toward completion. Out of the total 48 departments, 12 have achieved 100% of their targets, while another 18 departments have met more than 80% of their objectives.”

“A dozen departments emerged as top performers, clocking in a perfect score by completing all their assigned tasks within the stipulated timeframe. Among these were key portfolios such as Water Resources, Home, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, and Ports. The Higher and Technical Education, Labour, and Textile departments also delivered impressive results, along with Culture, Mining, Dairy Development, and the Employment Guarantee Scheme departments.” CM wrote.

The Women and Child Development Department, led by Aditi Tatkare from the Ajit Pawar faction, scored a respectable 80%. Meanwhile, the Public Works Department secured the second position overall, with Agriculture coming in third.

However, not all ministries had reason to celebrate. Three significant departments turned in disappointing performances, each scoring below 35%. These include the General Administration Department (GAD), overseen by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which registered a mere 24%—the lowest of all. The Urban Development Department under Deputy CM Eknath Shinde scored 34%, while the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, handled by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, wasn’t far ahead at 33%.a​
