"Looted the people and amassed a wealth their families”: PM Modi slams the JMM-Congress coalition for the alleged practice of “Paarivarwaadi” politics in Jharkhand
Reiterating his “400 paar” stance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Congress coalition in Jharkhand over the alleged practice of “paarivarwaadi” (dynasty) politics in the state while addressing a public gathering in Dhanbad. This is PM Modi’s first visit to the state since the arrest of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation for several development projects amounting to Rs.35, 700 crore in Jharkhand.
“The people of Jharkhand have been looted by the leaders of JMM and Congress. While the people of the state are deprived of their basic rights, the leaders of JMM and Congress have amassed a massive fortune for themselves and their families,” said PM Modi. Taking a sharp jibe at the alleged prevalence of dynasty politics in Jharkhand, Narendra Modi said, “JMM and Congress will only take care of and secure the future of their children. However, Modi’s guarantee will take care of the needs of your children,” added the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took a dig at the Opposition INDIA alliance, calling them “anti-people.” “The INDI coalition can conspire against me as much as they want, but they will not be able to deter Modi from his path,” asserted the Prime Minister. “The INDI alliance government of Jharkhand is not letting us work for the welfare of the people of the state… My dear brothers and sisters, let me tell you that the people of the INDI alliance are anti-development, and anti-people,” said Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Friday happens to be his first time since the resignation and the subsequent arrest of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Hemant Soren on January 31, after which, Champai Soren was sworn in as his successor. The JMM-Congress government in Jharkhand won a vote of confidence in the assembly. While 47 MLAs voted in favour of the motion, 29 legislators opposed it in the 81-member Assembly.
A special court in Ranchi granted the permission to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to attend the Special Session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly and participate in the proceedings of the Floor Test. “I will not shed tears, I will save my tears for the correct time, I do not want to waste my tears on them (BJP). The tears of the Dalits and the Tribals mean nothing to the Central government. Tribals and Dalits are not safe under the present regime in the country…I will come back with more strength. Opposition's conspiracy will be thwarted,” said Hemant Soren in the floor of the house.
