“Leave father and daughter, join us…”: NCP (SP) MPs Allegedly Approached to Join Ajit Pawar's Faction, Offer Rejected
Seven out of eight MPs belonging to NCP Sharad Pawar faction have alleged that they were approached by Ajit Pawar’s state president, Sunil Tatkare, asking to join junior Pawar’s party. According to sources, all the MPs, excluding Supriya Sule, reportedly rejected the offer. According to reports the proposal was allegedly floated during the winter session of the Parliament.
Sources claim that Supriya Sule expressed her strong disapproval over the matter to Praful Patel. This development has sparked controversy, with MPs from Sharad Pawar's faction confirming the outreach attempt. Adding to the intrigue, MP Amar Kale revealed that it was Sonia Duhan, and not Tatkare, who contacted them, urging them to join the NDA to facilitate developmental projects. Kale also alleged that Duhan claimed this would help expedite their constituency’s development work.
Responding to the allegations, Sunil Tatkare refuted the claims, stating, "No such attempts were made by us, and no calls were made to anyone. Sonia Duhan is not a leader of our party, so I will not comment on her actions." He further clarified, "I have been in politics for 40 years and have never indulged in such practices. MPs meet during events in Delhi, and discussions happen, but no specific proposal or outreach was made from our side."
