Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, resulted in the deaths of at least 1,400 people, and many civilians were taken hostage. The ‘war’ between Israel and Hamas has entered its twenty-first day, and so far, nearly 8,000 people have been killed on both sides of the conflict, with several thousand displaced. Hamas-controlled health ministry has stated that at least 7,028 individuals have been killed in Gaza as a result of retaliatory Israeli air and artillery assaults, including 2,913 children. The number of deaths in Gaza is at its highest since Israel unilaterally withdrew from the Palestinian territory in 2005. Reports suggest that the casualties may continue to rise if Israel launches a full-scale ground offensive to destroy the Hamas.
