Vice President ISKCON Dwarka Amongh Lila Das sparked a controversy after he passed deprecatory statements centering on Bengal’s most revered icons Ramakrishna Paramhansa Dev and Swami Vivekananda. Moreover, Lila also passed homophobic and islamophobic comments and derogatory statements that outrage a woman’s modesty, on 18th June, at a seminar conducted at ISKON Panihati. He garnered the ire of various sections of the society, and the massive social media outrage compelled ISKCON Kolkata issue an apology. Amogh Lila, however is yet to issue any clarification himself.
