Israel has declared a state of ‘war’ following the barrage of rockets that were fired from the Gaza Strip that continued for about half an hour during the morning hours of Saturday. Claiming responsibility for the attack, the Palestinian Hamas militants described it as their very "first strike". “We are at War. We will win”, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Stating that the rockets launched mark the beginning of ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Storm’, Hamas Military Commander Mohammad Deif said, “We've decided to say enough is enough.” Giving a clarion call to Palestinians everywhere to join the fight, he added, “Today is the biggest battle to end the last occupation.” The unprecedented escalation of tension between Israel and Palestine has claimed at least 22 lives and over 70 are gravely injured.
